Design Workshop
Our initial consultation is a 30-minute meeting — either virtually or over a coffee — where we discuss your project, understand your vision, and explore whether we're the right fit to work together.

Breif & Predesign
We begin with a collaborative briefing workshop to understand your project aspirations and challenges. Together, we refine your brief and gather essential information — including certificate of title, drainage plans, and planning regulations — while coordinating any necessary site surveys. We prepare multiple creative options for your building and identify planning, building regulation, and sustainability opportunities and constraints. Clear roles and responsibilities are established early to ensure a smooth and well-informed start.

Concept Design
With your project parameters defined, we develop several creative design options based on scope, budget, and your needs. These may include sketches, floor plans, renderings, or models. We explore alternatives to maximise site benefits and design efficiency while identifying planning, building regulation, and sustainability opportunities and constraints. Throughout, we encourage open communication and regularly revisit your brief to ensure the designs align with your goals.
Once the concept is agreed, we refine the design, develop key details, and shape the final proposal ahead of planning. This is the stage to raise any additional requirements and prioritise time, quality, and cost. We can bring in a quantity surveyor to provide a cost estimate and help keep the design aligned with your budget. If resource consent is required, we’ll coordinate with the relevant consultants to manage the process.

Developed Design
Following resource consent, we develop the design in full detail — including construction methods, materials, systems, and finishes — to enable accurate pricing and construction. At this stage, we also ensure all agreed services are reflected in the design scope. This stage is the most intensive and involves preparing building consent packages, collaborating with our consultants, and preparing a tender package for construction.

While our primary focus is on design and documentation, we can advise on contract administration, site observation, and project completion services if required. These services can be provided directly by us or in collaboration with trusted consultants, depending on your project needs.
